Mr. Gary Leonard, 6th grade Language Arts and Social Studies teacher at Chatham Charter was selected by his fellow teachers as Teacher of the Year for 2012-2013. This allows him to compete among all other charter schools and regular public schools for state recognition. Gary has been teaching over 30 years in Chatham County. He has been a dedicated staff member at Bennett Elementary, Chatham Central High School and Chatham Charter. Teaching and coaching have always been a passion along with a desire to help students be successful. He also currently serves as Vice Chairman on Chatham County’s Board of Education.
