The Chatham Charter administration is continuing to closely monitor evolving community effects of the coronavirus (COVID-19) and has developed plans to adapt various aspects of school life in the event changes are needed. As of March 12th, the following adjustments are being made:
At this point, we feel it is best to discontinue all field trips until further notice. Individual trip coordinators will be working to arrange refunds for families.
The Spring Sing will be moved from Tuesday, March 17, to Monday, March 16. Only performers and their teachers will attend. A single performance will be live streamed at 8:30am on the school YouTube channel. We will provide a link on our webpage. The video will be saved there. Students should wear spring colors and soft-bottomed shoes.
The North Carolina High School Athletic Association (NCHSAA) will suspend all sports activities effective at midnight Friday, March 13, through Monday, April 6. From the NCHSAA website announcement: “The NCHSAA Board of Directors will assess this situation regularly over the next few weeks. This includes all workouts, skill development, practices, and contests.” For Chatham Charter this will include middle school as well as high school athletics.
In addition, we have further increased disinfecting throughout our campus and ask that families be extra diligent with school-related items as well. Thank you for your support during this unprecedented time as we diligently strive to make decisions in the best interest of everyone amid the evolving coronavirus outbreak. We will keep you informed along the way.
