Out of an abundance of caution due to a forecast of heavy afternoon storms and potential flooding in the area, Chatham Charter School will close early on Thursday, February 6. One of the deciding factors in this decision was the number of Chatham Charter students who live in five surrounding counties. Staff will be dismissed after students have left campus.
The early dismissal schedule:
There is no need to pick up your child any earlier because the weather forecasts the system coming through well after our dismissal times.
12:30pm - All bus riders (K-12) are dismissed from class
12:35pm - Bus departs Chatham Charter
12:30-12:40 - K-2
12:40-12:50 - Grades 3-5
12:50-1:00pm - Grades 6-8
1:00pm - Grades 9-12
Bus details: The bus should arrive at the Pittsboro Food Lion by 1:00pm. If your student is a bus rider, please have someone there by 1:00pm to pick him or her up.
Lunch: All students will be able to eat lunch before being dismissed.
Upperclassmen CCCC afternoon classes: Administration is in contact with instructors from the college who teach Chatham Charter sections of courses. Students who have other CCCC classes this afternoon should consult with their parents/guardians on making decisions related to attending those classes.
Athletics: There are no middle school athletics currently in season. High school sports teams will make Thursday practice decisions in consultation with administration.
